Angry Protesters hurl plastic bottles at Information Minister

Protesters hurled plastic bottles at Federal Minister for Information & Broadcasting Qamar-uz-Zaman Kaira during a protest demonstration against prices of petroleum products and price hikes in the country.

According to details people from different walks of lives were staging a protest demonstration against prices of petroleum products and price hikes in the country here Sunday, when Federal Information Minister who also belonged to the same constituency despite the prohibition by the Police went out among the masses to pacify them, on which the agitated masses hurled plastic bottles at the Federal Minister.

While addressing a press conference here after the incident, Federal Information Minister termed the incident as not a matter of concern, as he also hails from this city and they were his brethren.

Federal Information Minister further informed that work on Basha Dam will be started from next year (2010) and any major plan will not be started without taking the provinces into confidence.

He also informed on the occasion that Pakistan has its reservations with India regarding Baglihar Dam, as India has been storing water through this dam against the Indus water treaty.
