NADRA to introduce ID cards with Chip for countering terrorism

National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has decided to introduce Identity Cards with a special computer Chip aimed to help intelligence agencies in investigation of terrorist attacks and to in-time identification of suspected suicide bombers.

According to NADRA sources, the authority would issue identity cards with chip from August 14 and such cards would have biometric data.

Sources said that the government took the decision as the Law Enforcement Agencies face difficulties in the identification of suicide bomber as fake identity card are used in terror activities.

The Identity Cards with chip would have complete data and it would be easy for the intelligence agencies to investigate any terror incident.
