BB murder investigation: UN commission leaves for NY after taking vital documents
The UN Commission led by Chilean UN ambassador Heraldo Munoz conducting an inquiry into the assassination of late Former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto on Saturday left for New York after taking vital document and meeting with top Government officials including President Asif Ali Zardari.
During three days stay in Pakistan, the UN Commission conducted interview of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) office bearers and Political Personalities who were close with late Former Premier Benazir Bhutto. The commission also visited the site where Shaheed Benazir Bhutto was assassinated on December 27, 2007.
The commission also met with officers of law enforcement agencies who are involved in investigation into the murder of Benazir Bhutto and reordered their statement.
The commission has also left its team in Pakistan who will stay here for 6 months to take further information into the murder of country’s Premier.
The commission can visit Pakistan again if needed. It may be recalled here the UN Commission head Heraldo Munoz also held a news conference in Pakistan on Friday in which he cleared his commission mandate with regard to investigation of late Pakistan’s Premier Benazir Bhutto.
