Summary regularizing 103 doctors to be sent to PM soon: minister
Federal Health Minister Ejaz Jakhrani has said that summary for the regularization of 103 doctors working in various hospitals under the federal government would be sent to the Prime Minister for approval.
In reply to attention notice during National Assembly session here on Friday, he said public service commission of each province has its own laws and Punjab regularized its doctors by normalizing its laws, but however, the laws of Federal Public Service Commission are very strict and, therefore, the federal government could not regularize the contract doctors.
He said work on summary regularizing 103 contract doctors was in progress and would be sent to the Prime Minister for approval very soon.
The federal government tabled three presidential ordinances including that of Benazir Bhutto Income Support Program. Federal Parliamentary Affairs Minister presented the ordinances.
The ordinances included reinstatement of dismissed employees 2009, anti-electronic crimes ordinance 2009 and Benazir Income Support Program ordinance 2009.
Babar Awan told the house that the appointment of retired officers and employees in the federal departments could not be made under civil service act.
He said that the appointment of retired officers and employees in the federal departments was not possible under civil service act, but however it allows the appointment of high profile persons for the best interests of the public but the public interest has not been defined due to which several retired officers have been appointed, on which the members asked the government to clear its position why several persons have been appointed on attractive posts, while they were disrupting their departments.
Babar Awan said if members pinpoint such cases then it would be reviewed according to law.
During the session, Deputy Speaker Faisal Karim Kundi took strict notice of absence of ministers from the house and directed Chief Whip of the ruling coalition Khurshid Shah to ensure presence of ministers in the house.
During question hour session, he expressed her anger over the absence of Federal Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira, State Minister Samam Hussain Bukhari and Parliamentary Secretary information from the house and directed Khurshid Shah to ensure presence of minister in the house.
On the instructions of the Speaker, Khurshid Shah summoned Qamar Zaman Kaira for answering questions immediately.
Later, Deputy Speaker Faisal Karim Kundi adjourned the session for indefinite period after reading out President’s orders in the house.
