Terrorists plan to hit PM, CM Punjab: Report
The banned outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and other terrorist groups have planned to target Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and other important personalities and sensitive building through suicide attacks, it was revealed in intelligence report issued here on Saturday.
According to a private TV channel, the intelligence sources have informed the law enforcement agencies through a summary that the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan has started reorganizing itself during the ongoing military operation in Swat and North Waziristan.
It says two groups Lashkar Omar and Abu General has sent 50 suicide bombers to Punjab and NWFP with targets to take revenge of operation ‘Rah-e-Rast’ and start activities within 30 days for the release of their aids detained by the government.
The summary says Al-Jihad, sub group of the banned outfit, Tehreek-e-Nifaz-e-Shariat-e-Mohammadi (TNSM) and Arab Mujahideen might target Prime Minister and Punjab Chief Minister in disguise of law enforcement agencies after which the security of both the leaders has been enhanced.
It has been learnt that the terrorists might take any step to release their aids arrested in charges of being involved in attack on Sri Lankan team in Lahore.
The law enforcement agencies have been directed to improve security arrangements so that could avoid any terror attack.
