Afghan journalist shot dead in Jamrud
A senior Afghan journalist Janullah Hashim was killed while another person sustained injuries in Tehsil Jamrud of Khyber Agency at Pakistan-Afghan border.
According to driver and conductor of the coach in which the Afghan journalist was traveling told that Jan Ullah Hashim boarded the coach at Torkham and a white car intercepted the Afghan journalist in the area of Landi Kotal.
They said that the armed men took the Afghan journalist out of the coach and shot the Afghan journalist and another person. The injured Afghan journalist was shifted to Jamrud Civil Hospital but he later succumbed to his injuries. The other injured man was shifted to Hayatabad Medical Complex.
The slain Afghan journalist was associated with foreign organizations, a US Broadcast Organization, a News Agency and he was the Bureau Chief of a Afghan private TV channel in Peshawar. He has been living in the provincial capital for the last several years.
According to brother of murdered Afghan journalist, Janullah Hashim would be buried in his native area in Jalalabad. He said that his late brother or his family have no enmity and never received any threats.
