PM repeals removal from service ordinance

Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani has announced to repeal removal from service ordinance and clause 32-B of banking ordinance.

Prime Minister made this announcement while addressing workers convention held here in connection with distribution of share certificates among the workers under Benazir Employees stock option scheme here Thursday.

He held PPP was party of laborers and it would not rest unless anti labor policies were scrapped. Undemocratic forces always blocked the way of PPP through palace intrigues and now such conspiracies would be thwarted.

PPP was striving to give respectable status to labor class in the society since the last 4 decades. It would continue such efforts unless they bore fruit, he added.

People are fountain head of power and empowerment to them would have to be ensured at every cost, he remarked.

What pledges were made by Benazir Bhutto were still in my memory , he said adding elimination of terrorism was also one of her pledges which would be delivered at every cost. The terrorists were on the run at present, he held.

Recounting the welfare oriented projects launched by the government he said PPP led government had introduced Benazir Income Support program, Waseela Haq Program,Benazir tractor scheme, increase in the salaries of employees, reinstatement of sacked employees, education policy, textile policy and empowerment of people of Gilgit and Baltistan for the betterment of people of the country.

Economy was on the path of recovery and no one would name the country a bankrupt country today , he remarked.

Government had increased death grant upto Rs 300000 for widows of laborers and dowry allowance upto Rs 70000, he told. 8000 new housing units would be built for the laborers, he added.

Information minister Qamar Zaman Kaira said ownership rights would be given to the laborers in the entities which had been privatized.
