Int’l Teachers Day on October 5
International Teachers Day will be celebrated on 5thOctober in Punjab province with traditional enthusiasm and fervor.
In this connection special function and seminars will be held at district, division and provincial levels. In these seminars rich tributes would be paid to teachers for their services in education sector. The teachers would be presented gifts and bouquets by the students on this occasion.
It was decided in a high level meeting presided by Addl. Chief Secretary Punjab Javed Aslam, here. The meeting was attended by Secretary Higher Education Ahad Cheema, Secretary Schools Education Muhammad Aslam Kamboh, Secretary Special Education, Secretary TEVTA, DPI(Colleges) Dr. Abdul Razzaq Cheema and Addl. Secretary Academic Ch. Muhamad Akram.
Addressing the meeting, the Addl. Chief Secretary said that teachers are main pillar of education system and they deserve recognition and appreciation by all walks of the society. He further stated that teachers day function would be held at all the institutions of technical, special and general education simultaneously. In addition to that renowned retired teachers would be also invited to grace the occasion. Main function of the day will be held at Lahore and Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif would be the chief guest. The Addl. Chief Secretary also announced that free entry of teachers will be allowed on 5th October in all recreational spots of the province including Lahore Museum, Lahore Zoo, Lahore Fort and Jallo Safari Park. Moreover, tourism department will also arranged free visits of historical places of Lahore for teachers by its bus service.
