IIUI Closed for Four Days
The International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) has been closed for four days to mourn Tuesday Bomb Blasts victims at the New Campus of the university. It was announced by IIUI spokesman Syed Muzammil Hussain, Deputy Director Public Relations.
Rector of the university Professor Fateh Muhammad Malik, President Dr. Anwar Hussain Siddiqui, Vice Presidents Dr. Zafar Ishaq Ansari and Mrs. Parveen Qadir Agha, faculty members, students and staff have expressed their grief over tragic accident of Tuesday and paid tributes to those who lost their lives and those who were injured due to blasts They also participated in rescue operation.
They lauded heroic role of two IIUI Security Guards who laid their own lives and protected others’ lives. They also visited PIMS, NESCOM and KRL Hospitals to inquire about health of wounded persons. They assured them full assistance. In a statement, IIUI Rector Prof. Malik & President Dr. Siddiqui both have clarified that the university had taken all possible protective measures. The whole campus was protected by security guards and all visitors were thoroughly checked by metal detectors.
