Rawalpindi death toll rises to 34
The death toll in the Rawalpindi suicide blast has risen to 34 and forty-five injured
The suicide bomber struck outside National Bank of Pakistan near to Private hotel located on a Mall Road in Cantonment area of Rawalpindi at 10:39 am Monday.
The blast destroyed around dozen vehicles parked in the hotel parking lot. Soon after the blast, law-enforcement agencies cordoned off the area and closed Mall road for every kind of traffic as well.
Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi Muhammad Aslam Tareen confirmed the death toll as thirty-four while CPO Rawalpindi Rao Muhammad Aqbal confirmed the death toll as twenty-six and said that several victims of the suicide attack were security personals.
The eight dead bodies brought to district head quarter hospital were identified as Muhammad Arshad s/o Muhammad Azam, Sarfaraz s/o Riaz, Tariq Javed reported to be employee of ministry of Defence, Muhammad Akbar, Muhammad Afzal, Bashir s/o Afzal Hussain, Nazakat Hussain s/o Fazal and Sharafat teacher of FG boys high school Tariq Abad.
The injured are identified as Imran, Bashir Ahmad, Subtain, Muhammad Mushtaq, Muhammad Aijaz, Noristan, Muhammad Rafiq and Hikmat Ullalh. The injured have been rushed to CMH and MHR district head quarter hospital.
