Nation to have good news on 17th amendment soon: Kaira
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Qamar Zaman Kaira has said that nation would hear good news soon from President Asif Ali Zardari about 17th Amendment.
While talking to media on the occasion of second All Pakistan Spin throwing Tournament, Qamar Zaman Kaira said that President Asif Ali Zardari will address joint sitting of the Parliament in March 2010.
He said that issue of Balochistan package will be debated in the joint sitting of Parliament. He said that President Asif Ali Zardari will give good news to the nation about abolishment of 17th amendment and a parliamentary committee is working five days in a week in this connection.
While responding to a question, Qamar Zaman Kaira said that he was also not spare of the cases and there was a case of terrorism act against him in 2008. There are so many parliamentarians with cases, he added.
The candidates who had contest election of 2008 were all eligible and government will accept the decision of court in letter and spirit on NRO.
Similarly, he said that NRO was an agreement between Pervez Musharraf and late Benazir Bhutto.
