Rawalakot suicide blast injures 2 security officials
Two army personnel have been injured in a suicide attack on army vehicle, some 15 kilometer away from Rawalakot on Saturday.
According to high military officials, earlier there were reports of martyrdom of two security officials but later it was found that two security officials were injured in the blast. The injured officials have been identified as Hawaldar Hameed and driver Usman and shifted to CMH Rawalakot.
SSP Rawalakot Sajjad Hussain has said that the suicide attacker targeted a vehicle of security forces in the area of Dothan.
According to media reports, the vehicle of security forces was coming to Rawalakot from Hijeera and targeted by a suicide bomber. The bomber was killed in the attack.
The blast was so powerful that the voice of the blast was heard within areas of several kilometers. The security forces have cordoned off the entire area after the blast.
It may be recalled that four people lost their lives in a suicide blast in the area of Tararkhal near Line of Control and after these incidents, the security of the territory was further enhanced.
President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, AJK President, Raja Zulqarnain Khan and Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider and other leaders have strongly condemned the blast.
The prime minister has ordered the immediate inquiry of the blast.
President Asif Ali Zardari in his message said that due to strong action of the government against terrorism, terrorists are now in run and trying to escape in sensitive areas of Azad Kashmir.
He said that such cowardly acts would not undermine the government’s resolve to eliminate terrorism and action against such elements to be continued till the logical end.
Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani while condemning the blast directed the authorities concerned to provide best medical treatment to injured.
President and Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir have also condemned the blast, saying subversive elements would not be allowed to disturb the peaceful environment of the territory
