Life-time ban on Yousaf and Younas
Approving recommendations of the Inquiry Committee formed after crushing defeat of National Cricket Team in Australia, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has imposed life-time ban on Muhammad Yousaf and Younas Khan.
PCB imposed one-year ban on playing of all-rounder Shoaib Malik and Rana Naveed-ul-Hasan, alongwith a fine for Rs 2 million each.
Fine worth of Rs. 3 million each imposed on all-rounder Shahid Khan Afridi and Kamran Akmal while Umar Akmal has been fined Rs. 2 million.
According to a press release issued by PCB, after the dismal tour of Australia 2009-10, the Chairman PCB constituted a Committee to assess and evaluate the performance of players on the tour.
The committee consisted of Wasim Bari (Chairman), Wazir Ali Khoja, Yawar Saeed, Zakir Khan and Taffazul Haider Rizvi.
The Inquiry Committee called in Manager Pakistan Cricket Team Abdul Raqeeb, Cricket Analyst Muhammad Talha Ejaz, Physio Faisal Hayat, members Pakistan Cricket Team Shahid Khan Afridi, Umar Akmal, Kamran Akmal, Muhammad Yousaf, Shoaib Malik, Salman Butt, Younas Khan, Rana Naveed ul Hasan, Coach Intikhab Alam, Assistant Coach Aaqib Javed and interviewed them.
The Inquiry Team on the shameful act of ball tempering by Shahid Khan Afridi, which has brought the game and country into disrepute recommended the fine of Rs. 3 million and put on probation for 6 months, during which his conduct be strictly monitored.
The inquiry team also recommended Rs. 3 million and Rs. 2 million fine respectively on Kamran Akmal and Umar Akmal and to keep them under a strict watch for six months.
Muhammad Yousaf and Younas Khan were blamed that their differences affected the performance of the Pakistan Cricket Team. Both these players would not represent Pakistan in any format.
